DC Beer Week

With DC Beer Week well underway here in the Beltway, we wanted to share some of the awesome events going on at our partner restaurants the rest of the week.

Wednesday:

Head over to RFD’s 3rd Annual Coast to Coast Tap Takeover tomorrow, Wednesday August 12 from 3-11pm. This tap takeover will feature 20 breweries representing North, South, East, West, and Midwest- and beers are all $5. Beer lovers can also enjoy live music, and some peace of mind knowing that the $5 cover is benefitting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital- it’s a win-win for everybody!

Closer to Adams Morgan? Check out the DC Beer Battle for Charity at Roofer’s Union DC at 6pm. Enjoy Atlas and DC Brau beers as they compete against other local breweries!

Wednesday’s packed full though, so you don’t want to miss Heritage Brews Takeover & Bubble Soccer at Penn Social DC at 6pm either. You can get some exercise in with the Bubble Soccer demo team, then refresh yourself with a few local beers!

Thursday:

Love Crabs? So do we. Stop by Smoke & Barrel’s All You Can Eat Crab Feast with Rar and Evolution. It’s all you can drink along with unlimited Maryland blue crabs (plus all the usual fixins- corn, potatoes, and hush puppies) from 6-8pm.

Penn Social is hosting a Blue Moon Pie Eating contest at 7pm. If eating isn’t your sport of choice though, check out cornhole at Penn Social as well. The Harpoon Brewery Cornhole Tournament will kick off around 7pm.

Becoming a total beer enthusiast this week? Roofers Union is hosting founders and brewers from three local breweries who distribute their products throughout the district. Hear all about self-distribution and experiences bringing beer into the Capitol from 6-8pm.

Saturday:

Drop in for “Deutschland in Dupont” at Sauf Haus Bier Hall during the Devils Backbone tap takeover. Enjoy some of the signature pretzels and sausages along with a huge portfolio of German-style beers and a great rooftop atmosphere.

Have energy left for one last celebration? Head over to Old Ebbitt Grill from 8-11pm for BrewHaHa. Enjoy great local beer from DC Brau, Port City, and more along with food from Clyde’s Tower Oaks Lodge, Smoke & Barrel, and other great local restaurants!

Spotluck Spotlight: Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge & Clyde's of Chevy Chase

We’re excited to announce that Tower Oaks Lodge in Rockville and Clyde’s of Chevy Chase have joined Spotluck. Nothing says local like Clyde’s, which has been serving authentic food and unique drinks in the D.C. area for over 50 years. Both new Spots offer diverse menus for brunch, lunch, dinner, late night meals, and drinks.

Each of our new Spotluck locations has been designed with beautiful aesthetics and a sense of history. Inside the Tower Oaks Lodge, “The Big Room” is framed with a two-story, 200 year-old timber barn from Vermont. The surrounding rooms are filled with hand-crafted wood furniture, stone fireplaces and skylights, making customers feel as if they were dining in a ski lodge, right in the heart Rockville. Clyde’s of Chevy Chase was designed with a theme of “yesteryear’s travel,” with dining rooms modeled after that transcontinental train, the Orient Express, and a race bar that any sports car enthusiast would love.
