Tucked at the end of Bethesda Row, this newcomer has boomed onto the block. Co-Owners Jennifer Day, Jay Evans, and Chef Gene Sohn introduce a neighborhood restaurant predicated on fresh ingredients and a homey feel.
Suma means "born in the summer" and is an ode to both the light feel of the restaurant, and the menu that will be changing seasonally to reflect the freshest ingredients. Although menu items like the duck confit pizza are beyond impressive, you'll also find staples like mac and cheese, fried chicken, or just a good old fashioned bacon cheeseburger to cure your comfort food cravings.
The owner trio has decades of experience with Bethesda's local restaurant scene. Co-Owner Jennifer noted that the team "wanted to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that you could stop in for a quick lunch, a nice date night, or just a casual weeknight dinner."
This Modern American eatery is definitely cozy, with a trendy interior and a comfy veranda (trust us, some day the sun will return so you can enjoy it).
Plus, there's more to this Spot than just delicious eats. Try out some of their creative seasonal cocktails like a Strawberry Rooster Margarita or the Orange Crushed. And even better, use Spotluck this weekend to taste them for free.*
